Our HUD-certified housing counseling services can help you understand your situation, communicate with your mortgage servicer, review available loss-mitigation options, and develop an action plan for keeping your home when possible.
What to Bring to Your Counseling Session

Most recent mortgage statement

All recent letters/notices from your mortgage company or foreclosure attorney

Foreclosure/court documents and sale date, if applicable

Most recent 30 days of pay stubs or other proof of household income

Social Security Benefit Letter

Other Income documentation

Most recent 2 months of bank statements

Most recent federal tax return, if available

Current monthly household expenses

Any loss-mitigation application, modification offer, repayment plan, denial, or other documents received from your mortgage servicer
If Self-Employed: Provide your most recent two years of federal tax returns, a current year-to-date Profit and Loss (P&L) Statement, and recent business bank statements (generally the most recent 2–3 months). If available, also bring documentation of any other business income you receive.
Don't delay asking for help because you don't have every document. Complete the Intake Application and bring what you have. Your housing counselor will let you know what additional information is needed.
