About OHCEDC

Passionate. Committed. Ready.

The purpose of OHCEDC is to address the concerns of housing, employment and economic development for low-to-moderate income residents. Our organization has achieved this goal through opportunities that raise the educational, and socioeconomic status of the residents. Our services include HUD approved housing counseling, Homebuyer education classes, Financial Literacy programs, Mortgage/ Rental education and Business Development Services.

Olive Hill Community Economic Development Corporation, Inc. was incorporated in April 1998 as a nonprofit charitable and educational Community Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) organization, pursuant to Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We are pleased to continue to serve our community for over 20 years.

WHO WE SERVE

The demographics of community residents we serve come from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds including but not limited to: minorities, disenfranchised candidates for re-entry, unemployed, as well as anyone whose income is below federal poverty guidelines. OHCEDC’s targeted area of responsibility expands into Caldwell, Catawba and McDowell Counties of North Carolina.

Within the confounds of this geographic range there is an obvious need for innovative economic development. Determining factors such as: the need for affordable housing, poor existing housing conditions, loss of jobs and the need for small enterprise development has contributed to this determination.
